Balico announced on November 4 that it was withdrawing its existing rezoning application after late-October community meetings. Residents had raised concerns about traffic, water use, noise, lighting and rural character. The proposal included 84 data-center buildings and a 3,500 MW natural-gas power plant. Balico explicitly said it was not abandoning the project, so this is an application withdrawal rather than a permanent cancellation. Subsequent reporting says the company intended a smaller filing and also attributed downsizing to traffic-study thresholds. The sources support a hyperscale-scale proposal but do not verify an AI-specific tenant; November 4 is the withdrawal date, not the later November 7 follow-up publication.
