On February 27, Chile’s Second Environmental Tribunal partially annulled the environmental approval for Cerrillos Data Center. It ordered the assessment process reopened to consider climate-change effects on the water component and the Santiago Central aquifer. The established event is a court ruling about inadequate assessment, not proof that an operating center had depleted the aquifer. This was a proposed Google data center; the cited reports do not establish a dedicated AI workload.
