On June 3, 2025 Constellation and Meta announced a 20-year agreement covering 1,121 MW from Clinton Clean Energy Center beginning in June 2027. Constellation said the deal would support relicensing and continued operation after Illinois’s zero-emission credit program expired, plus a 30 MW uprate. Clinton was an existing nuclear facility: the agreement was not a new 1,121 MW reactor or an already completed uprate. Future operation, added capacity and preserved jobs were expected benefits. Reuters and Constellation date the event June 3; Meta’s page also displays a later November 18, 2025 date, so the contemporaneous sources anchor this entry.
