Meta and Louisiana officials announced the project on December 4, 2024. The state described a 2,250-acre site and a $10 billion investment; Meta described more than $10 billion upon completion and over $200 million for local infrastructure improvements. The campus size, investment, more than 500 operational jobs and peak construction workforce were announced plans or projections, not completed outcomes. Clean-energy matching commitments should not be read as proof of hourly carbon-free physical supply. The primary announcements and Reuters report share the December 4 event date.
