Residents near Soi Rama IX 6 in Bangkok's Huai Khwang district reported a strong oil-like smell causing nasal irritation and itching. Thailand's Pollution Control Department inspected a nearby data centre, still testing its cooling system before opening, and found murky brown water with sediment and an oily film at a drainage outlet leading off the site. Samples were sent for laboratory analysis.
