A fire broke out on September 10, 2024 in battery rooms at Digital Realty's SIN11 data center at 3 Loyang Way, Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said lithium-ion batteries were involved and the likely cause was electrical. The fire damaged two battery rooms, two power supply rooms and a storage room; the Building and Construction Authority found structural damage but said integrity was not affected and issued closure orders for some areas. Firefighting water caused leaks that forced an emergency power shutdown for part of Alibaba Cloud's Singapore zone. About 20 people evacuated and no injuries were reported.
