On April 26, 2023 a cooling-system water pump failure at Global Switch's Paris-area data center (Clichy) let water into a battery room, which then caught fire. Firefighters contained the fire to the technical room and no one was injured. Google said "water intrusion" caused a multi-cluster failure and shut down its europe-west9 (Paris) region, and French government and municipal websites hosted at the site were also disrupted. Sources do not describe this as an AI-specific facility.
