In April 2026 Dickey County, North Dakota authorities said trucks and equipment tied to construction of Applied Digital's Polaris Forge AI data center near Ellendale caused severe damage to gravel county roads, some of which need to be rebuilt; several county roads and highways were closed for repairs. Applied Digital's CEO said the company is working with county officials to repair the roads and that paving of 87th Ave. and 95th St. will be jointly funded with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
