On October 8, 2026 Yandex, Russia's leading AI and technology company and developer of YandexGPT, said a drone attack caused a fire at its data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region, forcing it to fully suspend the center's operations. Yandex Cloud reported a power supply disruption in one availability zone. Yandex said no one was injured and that the scale of damage was still being assessed. Regional authorities and Ukraine's military had not confirmed the cause.
